Night of Glamour; Treeze boycotted 2nd edition

Just like every dream chaser, a humble beginning can be a humiliating stage. It was one of such for the host of Models Connect industry night tagged Night of Glamour; Treeze. He is a fast rising publicist with amazing concepts, which led to his discovery of the need to create a platform for models and aspiring models through which they network, sharing opportunities. The creative artist cum hype man was expecting a huge turn out to his second edition of the event but expressed fear severally on the venue’s management not being prepared to help make it anything better than the 1st. It will be recalled how successful the maiden edition was and the need to step up every little lapse from all areas observed.  But it seems like while Treeze was working towards achieving that, the supposed partners, the venue went on hibernation due to management shortcomings.

According to Treeze, he saw it coming but was hoping he could manage to pull through the second edition and then work towards having new partners as well as venue. But the confrontation he had with his fears on the day of the event was colossal as the hotel management failed to provide the needed bargain on their part. Things like security, hospitality, staff coordination, and early availability of sound, public address system, and general logistics. When it was dawn on the host concerning the hotel’s unwillingness to do the needful, he started making arrangement to personally accommodate the models who arrived from outside Lagos, followed by the unfortunate boycott of the event.

While trying to get some personal fund to make sure his guest models are alright, he stepped out of the venue and failed to return while his PA sent messages to expected guests who were yet to arrive to hold back. We also learnt that the media personnel also failed to turn out due to logistic reasons. At that point it became obvious that it was better to boycott than to continue with the event in order not to fall below standard. Although he (Treeze) was thinking in that direction, yet he had no chance to announce it before he stepped out of the venue with some models and unable to return.

Some of the guest appearances expected to grace the second edition of Models Connect Industry Night; Night of Glamour is Airtel brand ambassador (Half Dollar), Ruffman and Nollywood actress, Rolex T, among others.

One thing that is certain is, Treeze do not only need the right team to actualize and maintain the professional value of the event, but he also needs a dependable event manager who understands his concept. They say venue makes an event. That is not far from the truth as it contributes immensely in whatever capacity and involvement; either as partners or on a rental basis. With this into consideration, a venue that is prepared and equipped for such a glamorous event is not optional.

Efforts to contact Treeze for further comment did not pull through as his phone was not picked. However, it is presumed that Night of Glamour remains a monthly event which is likely going to be on a different venue.
